This is not really about kids doing things, but about grown people who claim to be intelligent, but insist upon fighting their battles as a child would. Kids get upset when they don't get their way. So do adults, but one hopes that we handle things in a better, more mature fashion. And we have to handle things more maturely because the way kids wage their battles does not succeed when faced with an opponent with any type of backbone or intellect.
The tools kids have to wage their campaigns are very limited. They include, causing a scene, yelling really loudly, and just flat out lying to hopefully somehow change the perception of reality around them.
This brings us to what went on at Chik-Fil-A this past week. As I posted before, some people got all ticked off at Dan Cathy for making statements supporting his view of marriage. His statements shouldn't have surprised anyone as its no secret that the man is a strong Christian. However, the dum-dums out there began wailing about hate speech and intolerance. This is the lying in hopes of changing perception of reality. Cathy made no statements about hating anyone. Also his stores do not discriminate at all in regards to hiring or serving customers. That's tolerance. That's the definition of tolerance.
The yelling loudly, was mostly done in the way people yell loudly nowadays, on the internet. There were all these posts and articles denouncing Cathy and his company. Most of them distorting the truth. Media matters even posted forged documents. Then there was the moron who decided to film himself being a complete douchbag to a poor girl working at the drive-thru at a Chik-Fil-A.
Finally, we get to the causing a scene portion in which same sex couples kissed in stores and took pictures, with one couple proclaiming "We win".
But who is the real winner here? Chik-Fil-A. They posted record sales this week. They didn't really react to the same sex kissing thing except with a few amusing bits of giving sandwiches and lemonade to a few of the couples. That guy who made the video? He got fired from his job. So this little campaign against Chik-Fil-A has completely backfired. This is good, not only because it reaffirms that civilized folks won't cave to an irrational mob, but also because I love Chik-Fil-A. Its my favorite fast food place ever.
This of course isn't the first time groups have used these tactics. Remember the stupidity that was Everybody Draw Muhammad Day? That was been a bunch of people got ticked off that nutjob Muslims made death threats to artists making cartoons of Muhammad and a Dutch cartoonist was actually killed. This was a case of there being a legitimate issue, but the group that decided to take action did so in the stupidest way possible. The plan was to put so many pictures of Muhammad out there that Islamic rule about not depicting the Prophet (because they consider that idolatry) would be crushed in the name of freedom of speech and expression. What actually happened was stupid people got their lulz on and Pakistan shut down the internet in their country. Why did they do that? Because the people in that country did not want to see those pictures and it makes western civilization look like a bunch of douchebags. So the internet, being the biggest tool for free speech around, got shut down because of people abusing that freedom. Probably good thing because I don't want to see what kind of government gets elected over there riding a wave of anti-western sentiment.
And of course there the biggest example of people throwing a collective hissyfit like a gaggle of petulant children: the Occupy goobers. Remember when these pinheads were running around saying how they were going to change everything and weren't going to leave their little camps until things changed. They didn't even know what kind of changes they wanted made, but as long as people who had more money than them suffered, they were cool with it. Massive fail. The only thing that happened there was sexual assaults, people getting stuff stolen, money getting wasted, and dopes now have a police record. But at least some old hippies got to relive their glory days, right? And the pathetic thing is some people just can't let this one go. They want to be the liberal version of the Tea Party or something, but have netted zero results in anything productive. So, the all the lying, yelling, and causing a scene amounted to squat.
So what do we learn from this?
Being louder doesn't win a debate.
You can try to distort truth, but people will only put up with a certain amount of BS.
Causing a scene to try to bully an issue will always fail against having an issue or idea strong enough that a scene forms on its own.
The thing is, these three examples do have legitimate issues at the hearts of them. Equal rights for homosexual couples, artistic freedom of expression, and current economic/social-political climates are all things that should be up for intelligent discussion and debate so that one day, hopefully, we can make some meaningful progress that everyone can live with. However, there'll always be those that have that gut instinct to stand in the middle of the grocery aisle and scream and bawl because mommy didn't buy the Lucky Charms. When and if those people wise up and grow up we have another generation coming up and there's a lot of them with a very entitled mentality that leads to this sort of crap.
So be ready.
And eat more chicken.
The comments, reviews and rantings are for entertainment only. If you are offended then someone else is getting entertained. Welcome to the internet. Have at it. This is where I sound off on what I read in comics this week, and occasionally ramble about other things.

French morons picking a fight
RAGE! Its Friday, November 11, 2011, I'm ticked again, or is it as usual now, and this is the Side. Lot of 1s in today's day. Ah well.
Onward!
I'm pretty ticked off today, and its all about people being stupid. A French magazine has decided to piss off Muslims. They're doing it because they say they have a right to. Worse, they're being praised for it.
The break down is a french magazine decided to have cartoons of Muhammad in it, which Muslims don't like because they consider it idolatry. Crazy extremist Moslims decided to firebomb the magazine's office. The magazine then responded with putting another cartoon on its cover of what is possible Muhammad, but definitely a Muslim kissing a man to further tick people off. I'm sitting here thinking that the French haven't picked a fight with anyone since the French Revolution and maybe their economic problems are a lot worse than anyone thought.
This is the same type of stupidity that brought us Everyone Draw Muhammad Day, which I've talked about at length. Its abusing Freedom of Speech and freedom of Press. The part that's really stupid is that there are Muslims out there who are just living their lives and this offends them. This gives them a common ground with the crazy extremists. And the people at the magazine are complete douchebags. This is seriously the equivalent of putting out stuff against all of Christianity just to take a shot at the Westboro Baptist Church. They don't care about who they might offend, just as long as they offend someone.
Here's something that these morons, and many other morons don't want to admit: Freedom means responsibility. And when you shirk that responsibility, that's when you run the risk of that freedom being taken away. Can assholes protesting at soldier's funerals make people question the extent that we should have freedom of Speech? It does happen. Can these idiots at that magazine make people really wonder if having the freedom to offend people who haven't done anything to deserve it is worth it? Yeah, they can.
And then there's the real winners who are defending this. The first comment in the Gawker article i linked to posted a cartoon and dared Muslims to attack him. This is the mindset of the type of moron we're dealing with. They want nothing more than to count coup. But, of course, they're just looking to insult those "close minded" people who aren't enlightened enough to see things their way. "How could anyone be offended at a comic?"
How about a word?
What if I decided to start using the N-word in this blog? But I'm not directing it at all blacks. I'm just directing it at that black guy who threatened to shoot me for being the wrong color on his street and his buddies who thought that was funny. The other black people who I like shouldn't have a problem with it, right?
See the point yet?
I hope so, because there's a lot of people who don't.
Bottom line: that French magazine isn't ballsy, because being racist isn't ballsy. Its just stupid.
This dude really likes this song!
That's it for me today. Happy Veteran's Day, and thank you to everyone who has served our country. See y'all Sunday.
Onward!
BATTLEGROUND: FRANCE?

Problematic Piercing Procramations!!
Heads up, True Believers! Its Sunday, September 19, 2010 and this is your Nozz's Side. That's right, we're slam packed this time around with death threats, weird bastards, and stuff that makes cable look good.
And away we go!
Last May we had a nasty little affair called Everybody Draw Muhammad Day in which a bunch of morons created a bunch of LOLMUHAMMAD pictures in an ill conceived and completely counter productive strike for free speech. Now the originator of the idea, Molly Cooper, has been listed on a Fatwa of people a nutjob Imama says should be killed. The FBI has told Norris that she needs to disappear.
Here's the rundown. The assholes at Revolution Muslim threatened the creators of South Park for an episode that examined the ban on depictions of the Prophet Muhammad. The episode technically did not break the ban at all. There was a lot of public outcry against Revolution Muslim and they've pretty much been buried by public opinion. However, Cooper who justifiably upset about the threat against fellow cartoonist published a cartoon lampooning the ban which was a bit of counting coup on her part. She also called for Everybody Draw Muhammad Day.
At this point all hell broke loose.
Idiots rallied behind it. Facebook groups were created. It turned into a big thing, and Cooper tried to apply the breaks, but it was too late. We all say things in the height of passion that aren't the brightest things to say, but if you say them on Facebook, expect insanity. In fact I have a video on this blog in which Atheist Barbie calls Cooper a coward for trying to stop this thing.
The fallout was pretty epic. Countries banned social networking sites. There were rallies against "western blasphemy". Now we've got death threats and a woman whose career and probably identity is pretty much gone. She picked a fight that she could not win. She realized it was a bad idea. Unfortunately those behind her were stupid and off they went.
Yes, we do have a lot of freedoms in this country. Freedom comes with responsibility. EDMD was an abuse of freedom without regard to consequences. People didn't think things through. When Cooper did think things through it was too late. Credit to her for realizing it was a really bad and stupid idea. She obviously does not deserve a death threat.
Moral of the story: there are consequences to things you say, even on the internet.
A 14 year old girl caused a stir with the administration of her school over a nose ring. Nose rings are against the school's dress code. Sounds open and shut, right? Wrong. The family is going against the school claiming they are infringing on the girl's freedom of religion. You see they belong to the Church of Body Modification, and piercings and tattoos are their path to spirituality.
Of course these people are complete idiots and not to be taken seriously.
Now, there are religions out there in which tattoos and piercings hold a significance. However, this church is non-theistic, meaning they don't worship any particular deity. Their whole shtick revolves around gaining spiritual strength through doing things to their body which are really just ornamental.
I swear I can hear Warren Ellis laughing about this as I type.
Let's pull this apart. You have a bunch of people who want to use their bodies as canvasses. OK, fine. I appreciate a well done tattoo as much as the next fellow. But then we get into the excessive piercing, tattoos covering enough of their body to the point that they can't be concealed, and lets not forget those absolute morons who stretch their earlobes out to a disgusting degree. They do this without considering the future ramifications or just think that society will adapt and the weird shit that they'redoing to themselves will be acceptable.
Then the morons discover that they need a job.
Surprise, companies are not going to hire you for any position in which you have to interact with any sort of client if you look like a circus freak. Had a piece a while back about one guy who was lucky enough to get his ears reconstructed once he discovered he was unhirable after stretching his earlobes. Now, at this point I'm sure there's people out there who are wailing and gnashing there teeth saying this is all crap and its what's on the inside that counts. Tough tacos, kids. You can have all the training and skills in the world, but you are still judged to a degree by your appearance.
So schools and businesses have certain standards of appearance. Now we have people who either didn't consider this or want to buck the standards. They hit the brick wall and instead of realizing that they've been complete dunderheads about their choices they form a "church" and use Freedom of Religion as a shield to try to force their way past the standards. The school in the case of the 14 year old has already made their stand and pretty much called out the church as being a bunch of waterheads. Good for them.
Cute stunt, really. But let's face it. They brought their difficulties upon themselves and they're going to have to just deal with it.
I've spent the last few months being bombarded by ads for this show. It did not look like something interesting to me. The star of the show looks kinda weird, like a Michael Turner picture come to life. However, there really was absolutely nothing on the other night so I watched the whole thing.
This episode was an absolutely scathing in its depiction of motherhood. The episode in question dealt with both of the female leads, Marti and Savannah, having to deal with their mothers. Marti's mother is an incompetent embarrassment who does nothing but make Marti's life more difficult. Savannah's mother is a cold bitch who uses religion as a club to beat down her daughter and try to control her. Always heartwarming to see Christianity in such a light. Nice to know there is still a group we can heap scorn upon. Fortunately we have Savannah to contrast her mother who maintains her faith and still lives her life. Unfortunately in the previews for the next episode we see her being a drunken cliché. The episode made me think that the writers really need some couch time to suss out their mommy issues. It gave the distinct impression that both of the girls would be much better off without their mothers around.
This show does succeed in showing cheerleading as a sport, which it is despite what certain federal judges have ruled. It combines gymnastics, tumbling and dance choreography into something competitive. I like cheerleading. Yes, the over-abounding "spirit" can be a bit much for my tastes, but I fully appreciate the hard work that goes into creating and executing the routines. Not to mention the serious danger involved should something go wrong. They show how much work is put into this sport. They also show the work it takes to balance being a cheerleader with having to keep up with classwork.
What I don't dig is the ridiculous drama. There's the obligatory catty cheerleader who sabotages Marti. There's the horrendously bad subplot with the cheer coach and football coach. Frankly, there's more to be gained by cutting elements from the show than adding useless baggage. Its not a bad show, but its not a very good one. That has nothing to do with the people on the screen either. So, its off to an OK start, but I see it going down the tubes really fast.
Want to know the real reason why it's taken so long for BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE to hit the stands? Its because Grant Morrison has been busy battling My Chemical Romance!!
That's it for this time around. Thanks to Paul Was for turning me on to our music for today. If there's no post on Wednesday, its because Chip Mosier has reached through the internet and choked the smarming life out of me.
Peace out, hippies!
And away we go!

Batman is nicer than Hugo Chavez!
So much stuff! So little time! It's Friday, July 16, 2010 and I'm in charge of feeding virtual fish on Facebook for my wife and kids. It feels like I'm in a George Romero movie and Mark Zuckerberg has bitten my family and I'm waiting for them to turn.
While it seems like everybody but me were able to get BIRDS OF PREY #3 and I'll have to wait until next week like a shmoe, I'll just have to make due.
BATMAN #701 and SUPERMAN #701 both hit this week, and I found myself pondering something I had not considered before: Is Batman a nicer guy than Superman now? The Batman issue is the story of what happened to Bruce Wayne between R.I.P. and FINAL CRISIS. The Superman issue is the official start of Straczynski's run. The Batman issue clicked big time with me because I'm reading all these thoughts that I had reading the arcs themselves coming from Bruce Wayne. There's an intense weight to the story despite the lack of big action. We know what's going to happen and I'm still pouring over the issue for clues as to possible connections between The Black Glove and Darkseid. The Superman issue is the start of a brand new story arc and unfortunately its horribly dull. It feels like a filler issue, a good one, but still filler. Frankly, if this is what's going to be going on for a year, then I'm out.
But back to my thoughts on who is a nicer guy. Superman gets back to Earth, and is now going to walk around and i guess talk with people or whatever. He just got back from being in space for months. He's got to be a crappiest husband ever. That or Lois Lane is just the most patient and forgiving woman ever to be put on the planet. He's pretty sanctimonious to his detractors. The little things he does like letting a fella know about a heart problem is nice, but over all can't save the story.
Batman on the other hand just survived a serious attempt to take him out, and crawls out on a helicopter crash, and swims to a dock, and after all that he still makes time to have a kind word of the ex-prostitute that he arranged a legitimate job for. He makes sure to thank Alfred, Dick, and Tim before getting a well earned and hard fought for rest. And even though he's still working to unravel and set right the events of R.I.P. he sets that aside when Superman needs his help. Bruce Wayne: stand up dude.
Moving over to BATGIRL we got a really disturbing look at the origin of the Calculator. I thought this was supposed to be the 'fun' Bat-title. I guess fun came with an extra helping of creepy. What's really a kicker is that the calculator turns right around to give the Atom some grief in this week's back-up in ADVENTURE COMICS. Busy guy.
I also enjoyed some R.E.B.E.L.S. this week. Sure didn't take long for Starfire to get nekkid in this title. The unreal amount of hair she suddenly had to hide her orange naughty bits was downright laughable. But I'm still loving this book because for some reason I'm totally into space drama at the moment, and this book delivers it.
Its a hell of a thing when online battleground starts taking real life prisoners, but that's what happened in Venezuela. Seem that big ball of fun and kittens that is Hugo Chavez had a couple of people tossed in jail for making tweets criticizing Venezuelan banking practices. They have a law against being critical about such things. So, surprise Hugo Chavez is actually a scumbag. I hope you all can handle the shock.
So, there's a bit of a tweet counter insurgency going on. Philip DeFranco struck back on his YouTube show and encouraged his viewers to #HugoChavezSucks on Twitter. Makes me wonder if you'd get thrown in jail in Venezuela for doing that.
What we have to remember is that Venezuela does not have a lot of the freedoms other countries like the United States enjoy. DeFranco also noted in his show that some countries have banned Twitter altogether. This brings us to the idiocy that was the massive fail Everybody Draw Muhammad Day. Now, the anti Hugo Chavez e-campaign is in every way superior to EDMD. Its specifically targeted. The biggest flaw with EDMD was the collateral damage. It offended people who had done nothing wrong. It also forced some governments to remove tools of free speech which was pretty much the opposite of what EDMD claimed to be trying to accomplish. The Chavez thing is simple. If you think he sucks, hashtag it on Twitter.
But what if Chavez blocks twitter in Venezuela? Well, then it won't be there for him to use to throw people in jail. Also, there's so way for him to justify that action without looking like a butthurt little e-girl.
For the second week in a row a contestant on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has had to pull out of the competition due to injury. For those who have not seen the program the performances are incredibly athletic displays of dance. Its very demanding and it seems like every season the competitors and choreographers push themselves to try to top the previous seasons. Its insane what these people do with their bodies, and frankly everyone who gives a damn about performing arts should be watching this show. I got asked today "What the difference between it and Dancing with the Stars?" and the answer is simple: it is far and away superior in terms of the level of technique and performance that is displayed.
Here's hoping the rest of the competitors stay healthy and I wish Alex and Ashley speedy recoveries.
Was listening to the album on the way home from Karate. Love the album, love the song.
1: How much does Hugo Chavez suck?
2: Who would you rather have dinner with: Superman or Batman?
That's it for today. I know there's some big announcements coming up in comics so I'm going to keep my ear to the ground and see if I can find out some things. Might have some cool stuff for Sunday. See y'all then.
COMIX!!

DANCE HARD!!
TEAM BUFFY STRIKES!!
MUSIC!!
Was listening to the album on the way home from Karate. Love the album, love the song.
POP QUIZ!!
And the internet keeps right on turning.
Bangladesh has blocked Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and another site or two due to EDMD (Everybody Draw Muhammad Day). Pakistan has unblocked Facebook now that the images of have been removed. Its official: EDMD is a massive and complete failure. A bunch of morons drawing and posting a bunch of stupid lolmuhammad pictures is not a political statement. It isn't a blow for free speech. It is what I've been saying it is: internet douchbaggery.
I can't say its on the rise, because its a constant. Saw a flare up of it on Google buzz yesterday with people trolling in very stupid manners. Last night saw some dope playing the "puppet master" card after I called him out on being just flat our ridiculous with some of the crap he was posting. It seemed to get under his skin that I did not agree one bit with his point of view. He attempted snark and sarcasm which did not go that well. He later went of to claim he was "playing the person" as opposed to debating the issue. Seen that quite a bit, and frankly anyone claiming to do this may as well just hang it up and just spend their internet time looking at picture of funny kittehs.
Note to morons: if you think you are manipulating anyone via the internet, mostly likely you're only fooling yourself and are looking like a douche.
The internet can provide some degree of anonymity, but ultimately in dealings like this it does the person no good. If you posted a picture for EDMD there are probably no repercussions in your everyday life. However those who saw your work have a lasting impression on your e-you. You may have some difficulty later being taken seriously when you want to be. Some folks may turn their e-backs to you altogether. The puppet master card is just as bad. Posting in forums is a realm of ideas. You're judged on what you bring to the table. The puppet master card is pretty much a sign that you've got nothing and you're hoping to hide behind your internet anonymity. Essentially you're saying, "Sure, I was moron here, but it really all part of my cunning ploy. I'm not really a moron in real life. Really."
For the record there are people that really are puppet masters on the internet. They don't go around announcing it. Its like being cool. You don't get to declare yourself cool. Other people have to do it.
This is coming from a troglodyte banging away on a keyboard with a stick hoping to make e-fire. Declare me what you will.

The wrong bear to poke
The Pakistan infowar is continuing and as predicted there's a lot of upset people over there. For a more professional take (read: not snarky) on the events Yahoo had an article up about it. So we have both sides of the coin upset there. There are those that are upset about the EDMD content, and there are those who are ticked that the government has blocked those sites.
Well, they didn't have a whole lot of choice now did they. Lawyers from Pakistan tried to get that content blocked, but that didn't happen. So the plug got pulled.
Here's a bit that the article touches on that the internet "freedom fighters" behind this didn't think about: Pakistan has an elected government. This means all the people who EDMD offended have a vote. I don't think anyone wants to see what would come to power over there from a campaign running against western blasphemy.
EDMD alienated a demographic that should be embraced. That's the people who really aren't sure about things the west have to offer like the internet. Would their lives be bettered by such things? I'm pretty sure they would, but you can't expect those people to want something when they hear about things on there specifically placed to offend them.
I swear. Its like PETA drowning puppies sometimes. You can't make people see the point of view the freedom of speech and freedom of expression are great when you are putting things up that are offensive.

Free Speech or DIE, you heathens!
So it seems YouTube has followed Facebook in sites being banned by Pakistan. So morons, under the banner of advocating free speech, have managed to block two of the most popular and biggest websites specializing in sharing content and information from an entire country. Are they trying to redefine "counterproductive"?
Good ol' YouTube. Just yesterday in the comments to a video I had some clown agree with me yet still feel the need to insult me in the same post.
And yes, the YouTube ban was indeed prompted by the Everybody Draw Muhammad Day, which is supposed to be today, so shame on you Pakistan for not waiting. You're supposed to let all the internet dimwits get a chance to offend you first. Bad form.
But really the people behind EDMD are a bunch of sissies. If they were really serious about free speech, they'd try Everybody Say The "N" Word Day. In fact they should. In Harlem. Let me know how that turns out.
Look, I love free speech, but like every freedom, it comes with responsibility. You are responsible for the things you say and express. Did those idiots who started really think there would be no repercussions? It seems that way. Now they've joined groups like Revolution Muslim and the Westboro Baptist Church in hiding behind free speech laws to offend people.
They want the world to have free speech and yet have demonstrated a glaring inability to handle the responsibility of free speech.
Don't expect this mess to end anytime soon.

The best laid plans of pompous twits
As predicted Everybody Draw Muhammad Day has had results and it not the type that the dopes who came up with this plot had intended. Pakistan has blocked Facebook. This effort to strike a blow for Free Speech has resulted in an entire country blocking one of the biggest Social Media sites on the Web. I'm sure this is exactly what Facebook was hoping for since things are going so well for them now with the mass exodus getting ready to go down and them being in deep dip over security of user's personal information.
So the people who started this and have a group on Facebook have managed to strike a blow against the website that they used to push the idea. Way to go, idiots.
Let's break this down real simple like. You have the right to Freedom of Expression in America. You also have the right not to be subjected forcibly to what other people are expressing. They don't want to see Muhammad. It is against their beliefs. Its not like they were being denied viewing images of Muhammad, they aren't interested, and don't want anything to do with it.
So the gaggle of goofs drawing the pictures and yelling "LOOK AT THIS!" like a bunch semi-retarded elementary school students and being ignored en mass by the people they were trying to offend.
And yes, they were trying to offend them. They'll say they're not. They'll claim to be artistic freedom fighter. Ultimately though, they are douches. And now Facebook, rather douchey in its own right, is reaping what the douches have sown.
And the karmic wheel rolls on. Take that, Atheist Barbie.

Responding to nuts with third grader tactics.
Draw Muhammad Day is approaching and if you haven't heard of this yet you may very well be hearing a lot about this soon. This is a response to Comedy Central editing a South Park episode "depicting" the Prophet Muhammad after death threats were posted online by a bunch of nutters known as Revolution Muslim. The episode in question dealt with the Islamic ban on depicting Mohammad visually in any medium. They also never show Muhammad in the episode having him hidden an a giant cuddly bear suit. South Park is a comedic show and pokes fun at everything, and while they did take jab at this ban they also technically didn't break it. However Comedy central did edit the episode when it aired in a move which I think was pretty wussy, but I understand it because they were legitimately worried about the well-being of two of their own.
The great thing about free speech is that it lets us know who the nutters all. Revolution Muslim spoke up and now we all know that these guys are douchebags and potentially violent ones. However, Revolution Muslim does not include nor represent the views of all Muslims. That's important because now we have a whole new problem.
Someone had the brilliant idea to have so many people draw Muhammad that it would "destroy" the ban. The reason the ban is there is because Islam does not approve of idolatry, which is something it shares with Christianity. They don't want there to be images of Muhammad because that may encourage people to worship him when they should be worshiping Allah. So obviously issuing death threats and killing a Dutch cartoonist is the work of extremists, but the principle against idolatry is held by most in that faith.
So where did this idea to draw Muhammad come from?
Yes, Atheist Barbie there looks quite smart with her glasses, take-me-seriously hairstyle, and general demeanor; but it doesn't change the fact that she's advocating douchbagery. This is the equivalent of taking a knock at Jesus just for the sake of getting a jab in at Fred Phelps. Groups like Revolution Muslim and the Westboro Baptist Church are indeed a blight and I've got no qualms about taking shots at them, however there's no regard here for the collateral damage. This concept is going to appeal to those looking to count coup and safe money says that most of the images will be derogatory.
Face it, when I'M getting concerned about cultural sensitivity something is definitely wrong.
So obviously I won't be participating and I encourage my friends in the artistic community not to either. Freedom of Expression is wonderful thing but this is an abuse of it. Its also ridiculously juvenile. Jon Stewart telling Revolution Muslim to "go fuck yourself" backed by a gospel choir is pure genius compared to this. Note that Stewart specifically targeted the offending group with no undue venomous overflow.
Grow up. Revolution Muslim got its ass handed to them by the public at large and their website is pretty much shut down. They've lost. They lost because they are losers. Don't go doing something intentionally being an asshole and claim you're being morally right because of Freedom of Speech. And you know what? I fully defend anyone's right to take part in this. I also defend people's right to burn the American Flag in protest, although I do feel I should have the right to punch them straight in the mouth for it.
Having the right to do something does not mean that you should do it.
